Dr Valle is based in the department of medical oncology at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust within the gastrointestinal disease group and treats cancers of the pancreas, liver and biliary tract, neuroendocrine tumours and colorectal cancer. He is the lead clinician of The Christie's neuroendocrine tumour service, awarded the European Centre of Excellence status in March 2011.
Dr Valle is a member of the UK National Cancer Research Network (NCRN) upper gastrointestinal clinical studies group and a co-founding member of its cholangiocarcinoma working party. He also sits on the NCRN pancreatic cancer, hepatopancreatobiliary and neuroendocrine subgroups. He has been awarded a number of grants for research leading to numerous publications and presentations, as well as national and international meetings, and he is a peer reviewer for a number of international medical journals.
Dr Valle is a member of ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology), ESMO (European Society of Medical Oncology), UKI NETS (the UK and Ireland Neuroendocrine Tumour Society) and ENETS (European Neuroendocrine Tumour Society).
