Mr Vijay Ramani is a Consultant Urological Surgeon, appointed at University Hospital South Manchester and The Christie, Manchester since 1999. He is responsible for the introduction and advancement of robotic surgery at The Christie, regularly undertaking robot-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy on patients with localised adenocarcinoma prostate. His specialist interests lie in prostate, bladder, renal, testis and complex pelvic and retroperitoneal cancers. His specialist operations include radical cystectomy and neobladder reconstruction, partial nephrectomy for small renal tumours, radical nephrectomy and complex inferior vena cava surgery. He also undertakes surgery for testis cancer including primary orchidectomy and retroperitoneal lymph node dissection.

Outside his clinical work, Mr Ramani is a Lecturer at the European School of Urology, giving lectures regionally, nationally and internationally on Urological cancers. He regularly recruits patients to trials through the specialist MDT set up and consults on the prostate and issues surrounding men's health.
