Lymph Node Cancer, Secondary
Secondary cancer in the lymph nodes occurs when cancer spreads to the lymphatic system from other parts of the body. The lymph nodes, which are also referred to as lymph glands, are all over the body and are connected by lymphatic vessels.
Things to look out for
Symptoms include but are not limited to:
- Swollen lymph glands – you may notice swelling to one or more of your lymph nodes; this can sometimes appear as hard bumps beneath the skin
- Shortness of breath and/or back ache may occur if lymph nodes in the chest or abdominal area are affected
You may not notice any symptoms; diagnosis may be made following a scan or removal of lymph glands for investigation.
